    Meet the Staff

    Dr. Margaret Fortier

    Dr. Margaret Fortier

Dr. Fortier has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2004. She is a graduate of Michigan State University where she spent 8 years; four playing softball for the Spartans and four in veterinary school. Despite growing up in California, she chose MSU for her collegiate experience and not because she enjoys cold weather!

After school, she spent a year in Northern Virginia in a small animal rotating internship. In this role, Dr. Fortier was able to learn from various specialists and become familiar with a very diverse clientele.

Since that time, she spent 10 years practicing in downtown Washington, D.C. She enjoyed the fast-paced city life and exploring all the city has to offer. The relationships she formed with patients and owners are what she values most about her years working in the District. These bonds are what motivated her to become a practice owner.

Dr. Fortier and her family moved to Ashburn in March of 2016 where she enjoys spending time with her husband, two daugthers, three dogs and one cat.

    Dr. Crystal Bahr

    Dr. Crystal Bahr

Dr. Crystal Bahr was born and raised in Texas, where she attended Texas A&M University, obtaining a bachelor of science with highest honors in 2004 and a doctorate of veterinary medicine with high honors in 2008.

She completed an internship in medicine and surgery at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida, near Fort Lauderdale. She practiced for nine years in Florida, then three years in Washington State, before moving to Virginia to join Goose Creek Veterinary Hospital.

Working all over the country has shown Dr. Bahr that there are many ways to approach most medical problems. It is important to her to work with clients as a team to find the right approach for their pets. She particularly enjoys helping pets with complicated medical issues to live their best lives.

Dr. Bahr and her husband have two young children, and they are all very excited to put down roots here in Virginia, near their extended family.

    Dr. Mainini

    Dr. Mainini

Dr. Tiffany Mainini was born and raised in Massachusetts and if you ask her parents, they would say her first word was “horse”. Dr. Mainini’s love for animals grew through a childhood filled with dogs, cats, horses, 4-H, and the United States Pony Club. She rode horses competitively successfully throughout New England. Her dreams of becoming an Olympic equestrian were replaced with dreams of veterinary medicine as she became enamored with science and medicine.

Dr. Mainini graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, where she performed reproductive research with camelids (alpacas, llamas) and competed in the Western Equestrian Club. Dr. Mainini graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015, where she developed a deep desire to foster the human-animal bond and improve the quality of life for pets and their owners.

After graduation, Dr. Mainini practiced high volume surgery and low-cost/shelter medicine in Missouri and then practiced small animal, exotic, and avian general practice in Kansas. She is USDA accredited and certified in Low-Stress Handling®. Dr. Mainini and her husband are excited to be back on the east coast and Dr. Mainini is excited to join the great team of Goose Creek Veterinary Hospital.

    Jamie - Assistant

    Jamie

Jamie was born in New York but moved to Florida at a very young age. She was raised in the sunshine state with memories of running around catching lizards, frogs, tadpoles and anything else she could get her hands on. Her love and passion for animals was always apparent to everyone around her. At a young age she convinced her parents to have pets of all different kinds, ranging from dogs, rats, hampsters, Guinea pigs, bunnies, fish and lizards. Jamie began horse back riding at a young age. Being on a farm was more than just riding; it was learning how to clean, care for and train the horses and that is what drove her admiration for animals over the edge. As a teen she moved with her family from Florida to northern Virginia where she began high school and did competitive and high school cheerleading. She later moved on and studied animal science, nutrition and agriculture at West Virginia University. She remained on the deans list for many semesters and finished out her college career with a 4.0. Her hopes and dreams are to learn about all different varieties of animals while also helping to heal and care for all that she comes in to contact with. She only hopes that she can help impact the lives of all the four legged friends she meets as they have done for her.
