Preventive dental health and addressing oral pain is a passion at Goose Creek Veterinary Hospital. We see pets every day that could benefit from a thorough dental cleaning and possibly extractions to maximize oral health. This is not a cosmetic issue in our pets, but a way of maximizing systemic health and reducing chronic pain. If you have ever had a root canal, you can probably identify with oral pain!
Fear of anesthesia can be the number one reason a client elects to avoid a dental procedure. At Goose Creek Vet, we would never recommend a procedure that we feel would jeopardize a pet's life. Anesthetic related death occurs less than 1 in 1,000 patients. In those cases, lack of appropriate anesthetic monitoring is often the reason for the death. It is very important to have trained staff and use state of the art monitoring equipment so that it is known when a patient is not doing well and measures can be taken to correct the problem.
At Goose Creek Veterinary Hospital we make every attempt to deliver safe anesthesia tailored to each individual. We have invested in high quality anesthetic equipment that is regularly maintained.
